Our wonderful growers decided to bring lavender to Woodlark this year and the whole team (as well as the bees) are delighted by the wonderful smells on the nursery. Lavender is a bushy, strong-scented perennial plant with an unmistakable purple head that makes it a British garden staple.
Lavender thrives in most soil conditions though it is advised to keep away from moist areas which could encourage root rot. Plant lavender 2 to 3 feet apart as each plant can reach between 1 and 3 feet in height. Water often in the first two weeks after planting but once the plant is established, they can be watered once or twice a week.
Ensure that your plant is protected from frost to ensure a healthy return in the new season. If you intend to grow in pots, keep them inside or cover during frosty weather.
