Doronicum is in the daisy family, and also known as leopard's bane. They are perennials native to Europe, southwest Asia and Siberia. They produce yellow, daisy-like flowerheads in spring and summer.
This old fashioned garden favourite provides one of the first splashes of colour in the herbaceous border. Cut the stems down to ground level in the autumn to encourage new growth. This plant is excellent for combining with tulips, or other spring-blooming bulbs an excellent for cutting.
